Not A Valentine's Poem

From: NotYourVal

St Valentine died for nothing
Head chopped for loving
Sent Valentine's guys ah' mourning
For a day, and then forgotten
Only to be remembered February fourteenth
The only day for loving

Jesus died for love too
Back whipped for loving
Nailed on a cross of promise
A promise of paradise and fountains
For a prize of love and worship
For a day and then forgotten
Only to be remembered on Sunday
The only day for worship

So you wonder why I do not celebrate valentines
And scream of Sundays
Men die for eternal causes
Which are remembered in one day
Virtues of life
Which are to be practiced for time
Are observed for a day
And unheed to at night.

I might not buy you a red rose today
Or have a parcel to get the chocolate in place
But I love you everyday.
The same way I laus deo
Everyday.
